Finnish player leads way on the WSOP POY (Player of the Year) standings...

Villie Wahlbeck earned his first gold bracelet Sunday morning when he won the $10,000 World Championship Mixed tournament and finished 3rd in Event 6 ($10,000 World Championship Seven-card Stud). Villie now has 160 points in the WSOP POY standings and two cashes for a total of $645,289 so far this summer.

Jason Mercier (USA) and Phil Ivey (USA) are also near the top of the board, each having won a bracelet this year, and have 125 and 120 points, respectively.

Vitaly Lunkin (Russia), has won the most money of anyone at this year’s tournament with the first place pay out of $1.89 m at the 40th anniversary tournament and has had another small cash in Event 12. He is fourth in the POY standings with 110 points.

Bracelet winners Rami Boukai and Anthony Harb, who have each cashed in another event this year, are tied for 5h with 105 points.

Daniel Negreanu, Jim Geary, Steve Sung, Thang Luu, Brock Parker, Ken Aldridge, Keven Stammen, Freddie Ellis and Travis Johnson all have 100 points.
