I cringed watching the coverage of his performance at the WSOP Main Event in 2008 as he bad mouthed some of the amateur players and sucked out badly twice when all in.
The top pro's often berate the play of amateurs but what irks me is that Hachem was an amateur also until his big breakthrough.
Hachem is now one of the most famous poker players in the world who made his big breakthrough at the World Series of Poker whilst still an amateur player. He had been playing many years as an enthusiastic amateur in Melbourne, Australia. His biggest cash before the WSOP in 2005 was under $4k USD before he played well in a smaller event for a cash of $25k USD then going on to win $7.5 million USD in the Main Event.
